Normande cattle

During your visit to Normandy for the 70th D-Day Anniversary this year, you may have spotted some Normande cattle!

This breed of cow are believed to have been brought to Normandy by the Viking conquerors in the 9th and 10th centuries.

So if you found yourself tucking into some Camembert, you’ve got Normandy’s lush green pastures and these guys to thank.
